Show Notes

What was covered during Tuesday night’s Redding City Council Meeting?  Here’s a quick recap on the wide range of topics that were covered, but of course, we recommend you watch the full video for all the details.

  •  The Council re-allocated $1.25 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds for the development of an update to the Redding Riverfront Specific Plan.
  • The Council will wait on a Bond measure for a new Fire Station and repairs to existing fire stations as the bond market shifts.  Staff will continue to prep for a Bond measure when it is more financially favorable.
  • Housing gave a great presentation on the City's Housing Programs and activities, covering what housing programs are available and what the City is doing to address homelessness in our local area.
  • Redding Electric Utility is authorized to purchase renewable wind and solar energy from Shell Energy North America. This purchase will provide renewable energy credits that help REU comply with State of California renewable energy requirements.
