In this week's City Council Meeting recap, City Manager Barry Tippin recaps the discussion around the following topics covered in the April 19, 2022, Redding City Council Meeting:

  • The Redding Civic Auditorium and Rodeo Grounds Land Discussion came back before the Council for a decision on whether or not to declare the property as surplus.  For more information on this topic please visit cityofredding.org/landdiscussion

  • Finance asked the Council to consider approving expenditures for design and appraisal services related to the construction of a new fire station and existing fire station improvements and repairs. 

  • Redding Police will asked the Council to consider an ordinance pursuant to AB 481, which requires each law enforcement agency's governing body (Redding City Council in this case) to adopt a written Military Equipment Use Policy.

  • Public Works asked the Council to consider the Water Shortage Contingency Plan and Drought Actions for the City of Redding. This would authorize staff to move to Stage Two, Moderate Water Shortage Conditions, effective May 1, 2022.
